Nemo Shield Sabre SE Alpha Green Bivy Tent
Derived from our proven Gogo™ AST* platform.
Sabre™ SE is a variant of the proven Gogo™ SE AirSupported bivy. It uses a single inflatable rib, or airbeam, for structure giving it strength and interior volume while allowing an erect time of about 15 seconds and strike time of less than 5 seconds. The overall shape is similar to a Gogo™ SE, but there is an inner wall at the location of the airbeam, creating a larger, permanent, floorless front vestibule. Between the inner wall and the tail, the shelter is 80 inches long. Ingress and egress is possible through the front vestibule or through the side door, which includes a built-in overhead vent.
The layout of this shelter, much like Gogo™ SE, allows it to be used as a sniper hide. With everything zipped shut, there are no mesh panels, which is good for keeping out cold winds, dust and snow. The packed size and weight are competitive with traditional bivys, but there’s no comparing the functionality, comfort and security. The coyote and alpha green models feature our new OSMO™ DC waterproof and breathable fabric with light reduction (not full blackout like the GORE-TEX® fabric in the ALCS™ shelter)
Pressurized air is an integral part of structures from car tires to basketballs, from spacesuits to the massive Millennium Arches building in Stockholm. AirSupported Technology® is NEMO’s unique interpretation of inflatable structures for lightweight backcountry shelters. The advantages of AST®, compared to traditional tent poles, include faster and easier setup, greater strength and wind resistance, easy and reliable repair in the field, smaller pack size, and the ability to bend without breaking.
